Yet again, I am ready to put my tuches on the ice for a cause that is near and dear to my heart: The Shalom Project.
Year after year, I go to the Big Chill Event because of the ice cream – after all, it is National Ice Cream Day! But far more importantly, I believe in the cause that is named for the goal we all should want for our society: PEACE, WELL-BEING, WHOLENESS. Our needs are great in our society and The Shalom Project is a necessary social service agency that makes Winston-Salem the compassion–based city it strives to be. The Moravian founders of this town named their community for the same reason this project was named and so it is upon us to uphold and create a peaceful and generous environment.
