In Winston-Salem, The Shalom Project runs a medical clinic and pharmacy, a food pantry, a clothing closet and a Welcome Table. The Shalom Project wants to make a lasting difference to the poverty situation in Winston-Salem in addition to the programs they run to assist people with immediate needs. They have chosen to put their efforts into assisting families in building permanent pathways out of poverty through training and mentoring, and to build a healthier community around a neighborhood thoroughfare through physical improvements.
